2/14/2023 0 Comments Rip software for epson 1400I typically use papers that give a split tone of about 3 (increase in Lab B of 3 units from paper white to maximum Lab B). With the MIS Associates' Eboni MK, the warmth, as measured by the change in Lab B, can be from 0 (Eboni black only on at least one paper I tested) to +6. There is simply no other medium that is as stable. While I've designed and used many inksets that use color pigments to cool down the usually too-warm carbon, I'm now an advocate of 100% carbon for fine art B&W printing or wherever the most archival prints are needed. I use, among other things, an Epson 1400 with QTR, but I do not use OEM inks. Let me clarify what I do and recommend for B&W printing.
